Av. da Liberdade

Every world-class city has one shopping area who’s name alone is recognized for haute couture, high-end jeans and fine fragrances. Rodeo Drive. Fifth Avenue. Mayfair. Champs-Elysees. Ginza. Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade certainly deserves to join the list.

Going up the hill to the east (with the help of the Lavra Funicular), you reach Pena, a more traditional neighborhood where the famous Fado singer Amalia Rodrigues was born, and where there's a little-known viewpoint, the Miradouro do Torel.
